I have seen Private Ryan. I don’t think I could watch it again.

I want to say a word about those low characters known as psychoneurotics. They are sons of bitches, bastards, and lice. In the last war they had ‘shell shock,’ and in the next war they will have some other kind of shock. But every one of them that quits means that more of a burden is thrown on you brave men who continue to fight. So if you have a man who thinks he is a psychoneurotic, make fun of him, kick his ass, and shake him out of it
Quoted for the stark non-PC nature of Patton’s entire attitude.
“PTSD, well that just stands for Pussy Turd Shit Dick!”

Yeah, the beach scene is pretty intense. As I recall, it triggered PTSD in D-Day veterans in theaters when it was released.

My grandfather, who fought under Patton and was 93 when we invaded Iraq, started having war nightmares after watching those live feeds of tanks driving through the desert.

My grandfather was an officer under Patton, and thought the world of him.
A good friend of mine’s grandfather also fought under Patton, but in a tank. He absolutely hated Patton.

It really drove home how traumatic of an experience the war was for him. He thought Dwight Eisenhower was in his bedroom, ordering him to have his men take the hill.

Awesome job of channeling your inner Patton!
